75,000 BP: Professor Christopher Henshilwood, director of the Blombos Cave project of South Africa writes that in a cave of the project beads have been found that date to this time. The project deals with material found in caves on the Indian Ocean Coast. Archaeologist found the beads located in such a way that suggested that they were part of a collar. The 41 beads the size of peas each with bore holes as for threading.The discovery was made in a layer of sediment from the middle of the stone age. The site contained red ochre coloring.
